Question for you Wordle-ists (may contain WordHurdle spoiler)

Here's the situation: 4-letter word, you guess "bear" and get the "_EAR" correct.

You have 5 guesses left.

How do you use them?

I thought of as many 4-letter words ending in ear as I could, and used a word that used three consonants that could solve it.

So there are 4 chances to eliminate those.

Which 4 words do you use?

9. I was lucky and on my first guess, one of the consonants was a match.

But if it wasn't, I would continue to find words with as many possible consonants that could solve it as possible. Otherwise the odds are too high that you'd blow through your remaining guesses without solving it.

6. Personally, I'd tend to find a word with two to three possible matches...

...because if you guess each individually, you could run out of guesses before you find the right one. Puff, for example, eliminates pear and fear (unless one of the letters is correct and then you have your answer.

Pick the most ordinary word. I have noticed that some words were aligned with things going on at the moment.
