Coffee shop peeve.

This happened just a few minutes ago and it happens to me quite often, and at different coffee shops.

I order a regular coffee to go. The server asks if I need room for cream. I say yes. I then receive a cup of coffee filled right to the top. WTH??

If they asked and you said you wanted room for cream then left none, I'd hand it back and ask them to make room for it since you don't have a sink handy.

Fuck people who are assholes for sport. I call them out and I don't care if people think I'm going above and beyond. Every time you walk away without confronting this shit, they are encouraged to keep it up so it becomes the norm.

I have been all out of fucks for some time now and when someone pulls bullshit, I call them out to let them know that not only do I smell the stink on their shit, now, so does everyone else within earshot.

...the ones who do this are trying to be assholes. I really don't know what it is. Fortunately, I am only a semi-regular coffee drinker so it isn't something that I have to deal with every day. But the fact that it happens as often as it does is irritating. I usually just end up pouring some coffee out in the nearest trashcan but I don't like doing that because it can cause a mess if there is a leak in the bag when someone takes out the trash. But, honestly, when I get one of these over-filled cups of coffee I am, at that moment, to annoyed to care about any potential mess.

Witty put down, when they are obviously being assholes, is to just go to the fixitup counter and make a mess. They will have to go clean it up and possibly ponder whether they won or not. I have worked at "quick shops" and managed them, I would not accept that from my employees.

If it's at every one no matter what... I hear you, don't know where that comes from. A few years ago I went to California for a week to visit family. There was a lengthy road trip involved so we had many coffee stops and it seemed the only place we went was a fucking Starbucks. I don't know why but I never liked them. So, without fail, regardless of how I placed my order - using their terminology - or not, all week long, at every fucking Starbucks they could not produce the beverage I ordered, even when California resident relative ordered for me at the drive up. Seriously, where does that kind of thing come from?

Consequently, since then when looking for coffee outside my home, I will go out of my way to avoid fucking Starbucks and their name will forever be fucking Starbucks.

For we addicts, coffee is a serious thing.

Are the arse wipes that order $65 worth of custom drinks and food at the drive thru...it takes the poor barestia 10 minutes to fill this schmucks order while the rest of us are waiting in a line that goes all the way around the building and out into the street. All I want is a coffee.

...that make fancy, custom coffee drinks. I am just a regular coffee with cream and sugar guy.

A few years ago I went to a coffee shop in LA and asked for a medium-sized coffee, half regular and half decaf. The barista looked at me as though he was confused and asked me if I was asking for such and such. I don't remember the fancy drink name he threw at me. I just repeated that I wanted a medium coffee, half regular and half decaf. I thought that that was pretty self-explanatory.

complain if the cups aren't filled up.

And it is faster for all if a customer can simply pour off or drink a little to make room for whatever amount of dairy product they want to add. Pouring some out is something a customer can do for themselves but adding more means they may have to come back to the counter and wait.

...I don't know why the server would ask if I need room for cream if they are not going to leave room for cream. If they think it's safer to fill the cup and then let the customer pour coffee out as needed then they should just dispense with asking that question.

so I paid for the tall coffee and had room for milk.... so I won coz I got more coffee than if I had asked for a tall coffee and to leave room for the milk.

I'm a genius.
