(9,148 posts)I'm in touch with my 3rd grade teacher on social media (she was a young woman in the mid-70s). I recently had a bit of professional success. She found out about it and left me a comment saying she was proud of me. That made me blubber like I was still 8 years old. We never leave the people of our childhoods behind; they are always with us.
And so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past. ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald

Twins are amazing. Everyone in the family jokes about how did any of us ever raise a single child - it would be so boring.
They were a Caesarian birth, but the first one taken out insists thats she is the big sister, which really irritates the other.

(4,552 posts)Wash this toy with strong soap and check to make sure everything is still safe and attached. Plastic deteriorates over time. Some of these old toys have unsafe levels of lead, cadmium and mercury etc. The toy might be a good decoration!

(1,322 posts)My Vo Tech cabinet making teacher was great, besides my time in the Army I have been professionally in the woodworking field a lot of credit goes to him, he passed a long time ago but I still remember him and his patience and teaching ability.
That is great your teacher kept it, must of had a lot of meaning to her.

(3,067 posts)My wife has been a teacher for forty wears and, regrettably, has not stayed close to any of her students. She will often be recognized in a store, but each year brings a sea of new faces; and forty years can make any eight year old impossible to recognize.
You twins look beautiful.
Loved hearing part of your journey.
