Maeve as a given name.

I thought I'd been hearing the name "Maeve" more often in the last 10 years or so.

Checked with Wolfram Alpha, and, sure enough, it's become much more popular recently:

I was thinking the same thing.

Ryan's Hope was the last soap I watched. I'd ditch school early most days to catch the whole episode.

I fell in love with Kate Mulgrew. Still am. Love her in OITNB.

When I tell people my first name, most people either mispronounce it or totally miss that it's Irish, and the mispronunciation is more a regional thing. It's funny to me when people ask me "Oh you have an Irish name...it doesn't sound Irish!" And I have to say "Um, yeah I'm named after an Irish King...he was kind of a big deal back in the time before England was a thing"
