The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI almost thought DU had lost its mind. While checking on our psycho counterparts at FR I
momentarily forgot what site I was on. There was a link to an article on sexual assaults of women by a perp on an electric bike. The comments were all making fun of the victims and light of the affair. I was about to respond with the type of flame that could get me banned but when I tried to reply I realized I wasn't signed in. I wasn't signed in because it was FreeRepublic and not DU and I am NOT a FR member.
For those with strong stomachs who wish a reminder of the misogyny in R land:

(756 posts)though I was raised in a right wing/Christian fundamentalist environment, it still never ceases to amaze me how cruel and mean-hearted so many on the Right are. Of course they love Jesus -- while violating his commandments...

(34,133 posts)they still existed. One hopes someone updated that sad website. I remember another I used to visit now and then, we were the reason for most of their postings. I cannot remember the name of it but it had a large forum almost all about us and another about posters here. Also rewards named after certain posters here that got under their skin. LOL

(17,087 posts)Skinner's Very Bad Idea? He had to take a Mulligan on that and shut it down. I hadn't thought of FR in a few years. I figured the hamster that ran their server surely must of died by now.

(34,133 posts)I don't know how I could have forgotten that name, lol. It was vile and humerous but full of cooties so I did not go too often but sometimes it was amusing when they disected threads and responded to what was being said. Thank you, it should have been easy to remember.

(4,919 posts)... Product management 101: know your users. Conservatives DO NOT like change. Ever.
The redesign lasted only a few weeks. Then it reverted to the original design that dates back to before the 2000 Bush v Gore election.

(4,919 posts)... The owner tried a redesign mid 2000's that lasted a couple of weeks. Conservatives DO NOT like change, and they'll yell about it just like everything else.
