(8,387 posts)...and if you've been with Jupiter, then you might want to check Uranus.

(32,639 posts)We had cloudy skies in the Pittsburgh area last night. I couldn't see anything even if I had stayed up all night. (I didn't.)

(212 posts)because I could not make the clouds go away last night. I told him I would wake him if it cleared up and we could see anything, but he was mad that I didn't wake him up to assess the situation himself.

(1,524 posts)One of the very best pics of Jupiter I've ever seen.
Are you able to share any technical details?
-- Telescope?
-- Mount?
-- Camera?
-- Number of images? One shot, or, stacked?
After 20 years as an occasional very amateur astronomer, I dragged out my old 12-inch Dob which I will collimate this afternoon, replace the Telrad, and go after the Messier objects.
I have an old Sony DSC-P93 point-and-shoot for which I have an adapter that lets me remove the lens ring from the camera, click in the adapter, and mount it in the eyepiece mount and take photos with the point-and-shoot. Fairly primitive, most of my shots are fuzzy, but now and then I come up with a good one -- that is, good for the very basic setup.

(11,563 posts)Far, FAR more impressive than seeing Saturn through the "small" telescope at the observatory near my former residence.
