Time Explanation. Now I understand!

The walking time from my house to the bar is 5 minutes.

The walking time from the bar back to my house is 1 hour.

The difference is staggering.

so there became quite a trend of calling for pizza delivery, waiting to see the driver come by, and flagging them down for a ride to one's nearby house or apartment. I'd imagine their employers likely intervened against willing delivery people, but for awhile--no uber required.
