There was a big wood paddle with a handle that was kept in the window of the principal's office as a threat. We kids called it the "Board of Education." I was only beaten once by a cranky old nun who hit me in the small of my back with her cane when I missed a math problem. I now have arthritis in that spot. Their favorite form of punishment was humiliation in front of everyone. I bet some of my classmates are still in therapy for the cruel sh!t they did to us.

would stand us about six inches away from the blackboard facing it, back to the class. You’d stand there fearing the worst then she would, only sometimes, push your head from behind so your forehead would smash into the blackboard. Never knew if or when it would come. Early 60’s.

Anticipation of pain is one torture technique. Start of my reasons for quitting being a catholic.

13. When/if the kidney stones break loose from their place in a kidney

The tube between the kidney & bladder is smaller in circumference then the average coffee stir stick. The pain and the blood of the stone passing can be immense.
Also, yep, they sure do look like other stones.
Thx for this packman
