FWIW, here's the short version - WI plays a pivotal role on the national stage (just ask Trump in '16 or Biden in '20). We're one State Senate seat shy of a supermajority (thanks to two consecutive rounds of heinous gerrymandering) that will give Republicans the power to override the veto, even if we keep our Dem governor. That means total control to the folks who want to undo the 2020 election, who embrace the independent state legislature doctrine, and are perfectly happy keeping a total ban written in 1849 on abortion access. Just imagine what they'll do with that power in 2024.
AFP and their cohorts are pouring money into the district. It's totally winnable, but it's never been this bad. There's a lot on the line, and they know it, too. I'm happy to take any DUer's money, time, and talent. If you want to come see Lake Superior in the fall, I'd love to have you as a volunteer on the ground!

(70,197 posts)either that or visit some friends in tx, and knock doors for beto. that's a face i'm happy to wear at a door.
i have offered to send pizza to any event where a du'er shows up, so keep an eye out for me.
