(16,384 posts)I still think it's the best. No special effects. It was all done with great acting, music, lighting, and direction. It still scares the hell out of me!

(25,560 posts)don't get it. How can Michael Myers be both human and supernatural (because bullets don't bother him at all)? Is it supposed to mean something? And the constant repetition of his name, Michael Myers Michael Myers Michael Myers, intensely irritates me for some reason.
I prefer old movies like 1931 "Dracula," or like "The Spiral Staircase" and "The Old Dark House" where the sound effects person has to work hard all throughout the movie doing thunder.
Last year I saw "The Grudge." I preferred the American version to the original Japanese because of the dark creepy interior of the house and a nice touch was a wind chime. They're only for summer (sound is supposed to make you feel cooler) so hearing the soft occasional dinging of the chime in winter is chilling. The sound the ghost makes is really great too.

IMDB gives it a 3.7, but I thought it was funny.
Scary movies don't scare me, so might as well make fun of them!
