Here's an interesting fact. The circular saw was invented by a woman.

Sarah "Tabitha" Babbitt (born December 9, 1779, Hardwick, Massachusetts; died 12 August 1853 in Harvard) was a Shaker credited to be a tool maker and inventor. Inventions attributed to her by the Shakers include the circular saw, the spinning wheel head, and false teeth. She became a member of the Harvard Shaker community in 1793.

enjoyed dancing a lot more. They also believed in celibacy, so it's no wonder there aren't many around these days.

Oddly enough, from doing an NYT crossword puzzle with a theme devoted to remarkable, but little known, women. I think it was a daily puzzle, not the big Sunday form, in the 1000 puzzle Sunday omnibus. I don't have the book anymore, or I don't think I do. Went to recycling, long ago.
