(1,577 posts)If you can, try downloading HP Smart. I was having trouble prior to doing this and my son-in-law helped me with setting up my HP printer for scanning in HP Smart.
I hope this helps.

Dysfunctional
(452 posts)My Canon would print what is scanned but not documents on the printer. I called Canon and their tech worked on it for 3 hours without success. My 13-year-old great-grandson came over and fixed it in about 15 minutes.

(4,910 posts)If your computer is linked to the printer/scanner (assuming this since you want to upload to computer), there should be an HP printer/scanner app on your computer that will walk you through it.
It will ask you where you want to save the scanned image, and give you choices. I recommend setting up a folder for your scanned images on your desktop to find it easily.
