I could use some legal advice. An employee of AT&T stole an Apple watch and put it on my account.

I made out a fraud report and I received an email from AT&T on 7/17/2022 stating it was a fraud and would be taken care of within 2 months. It hasn't been taken care of and they wrote me today that if I don't send them $225.95 my service for my phone would be suspended. Does anyone know if I would have a case if I took them to small claims court? I am a service-connected mentally disabled army veteran.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I can’t even tell you how much time she has spent on the phone trying to clear it up and never quite gets to a resolution.

Try it, and while you do, inform at&t that you are doing.

Years ago, I got a "past due" notice, threatening to turn service off.

I called them. They could not tell me what the charge was for, only that it was for cell service.

I asked "how can this be since if bill is nog paid promptly, you would turn service off?"

No answers were forthcoming.

It was $80 & I paid it. Sadly I didn't have time to mess with it.

At&t is also notorius for slapping huge amounts on credit report for satellite service equipment legitamately returned.

Has happened to several very conscientious people I know.

Good luck!

the Marines have a base here, Camp LeJeune, and also Onslow County also has the most veterans of any county in NC. I decided to try something, I told them that I was contacting all newspapers and tv stations in the area and seeing if they wanted to run a story about how AT&T was trying to steal money from a service-connected disabled veteran. It took 50 minutes for them to say I didn't owe them any money and I should look at my bill. My new bill showed that I owed $0.00. As soon as my phone is paid for, I am switching carriers. They asked me to talk to the officer in the New Bern police department who is investigating them for fraud, and tell him I don't owe them any money. I said that I would tell the officer that but I wanted the investigation to continue because an employee of theirs did commit fraud. I am also going to write Brigadier General Niebel, commanding officer of Camp LeJeune about it and ask him to see if any members of the military are having a problem with AT&T.

If you do not get any satisfaction from them, ask for that person's name and tell them you're going to make a customer complaint to

I worked in a customer service operation for a large company, and nothing got the attention of management as a letter received by the President or CEO of our company.

A few years ago, I was having trouble with my Xfinity service and was getting absolutely no help from their customer service staff. Wrote a letter to the Xfinity CEO and their Customer Service VP. Within a week I had a person call me and set up a time to come to my house. Upgraded all my equipment and gave me the "new customer" rate for 5 years. Was quite the reduction over the rate I was paying.

Things may not always turn out so positive, but it's worth the try.

My wife traded in two iphones at the at&t store a year and a half ago. She was supposed to get $1500 credit on her bill for the new phones. They did not give her a receipt then claims to never have taken her old phones. She called up and down the chain at At&t and they told her the stores are independent and would not intervene. The store manager tired of dealing with her complaints and finally called the police on her. They made her leave the store. She tried to file a complaint for theft and they told her it was a civil matter. They screwed us out of $1500.
