(71,868 posts)Smack-dab in the middle of the Cascade Mountain Range. Knock-your-eyes-out beautiful. Weird place to have a continuing education conference. How can anyone focus on the material when there's so much beautiful scenery?
niyad
(130,445 posts)I know what you mean about the scenery. many years ago, I was at Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey, in the Gallo tasting room. It had a huge picture window, facing Monterey Bay. I could not imagine trying tto work with that view in front of one.
Aristus
(71,868 posts)Cascades. Even the name is beautiful. And it describes the many beautiful waterfalls in the region.
Ferrets are Cool
(22,599 posts)Just finished ep. 135 of the greatest anime of all time, Hunter X Hunter. Only the 4th time I've watched it.
If one can watch this particular episode without crying (personally, I sob uncontrollably), I contend they are not human or have NO heart at all.
Enjoy your evening

"Space Battleship Yamato", I believe is the original title.
Ferrets are Cool
(22,599 posts)If you ever get the chance, you should try HxH. It is running on Netflix at the moment, so easy access.
And yes, Space Battleship Yamato is quite ancient.
It was released the year I graduated from HS, 1974.
Anime has changed so much since those days....or even the '90s.

(71,868 posts)I'm still amused over the way they had to edit it for American audiences. They called Captain Avatar's bottles of saki "spring water", which was hilarious when you saw Dr. Sang getting all plotzed after drinking it.
Ferrets are Cool
(22,599 posts)over in this one. There have only been three episodes so far, but I am hooked.

(37,770 posts)What are the lectures concerning?
Aristus
(71,868 posts)The most transformative has been the lecture on affirmative health care for transgender patients. I'm a fierce advocate for transgender rights. So it's nice to learn some more things about providing good medical care for transgender patients.

As a side note I started in Armored Cav...got yanked out after 2 weeks of my basic course and sent to Transportation Basic. Overall, the best thing in the long term.

(37,770 posts)we went through tank retrieval...M60s. They were short of junior officers in a lot of combat support units during the Vietnam drawdown so a lot of us wound up in support units. No regrets on my end...led to a career in logistics which I loved.

I was very lucky (and both scared, and thrilled) when

Mt Evans to our southwest that still had snow on the prakand The Continental Divide blued in the atmosphere, and snow capped bto our northeast! Near swoon....sooo glorious!

chocolate-covered strawberry.
The waiter was right.
You were right.
Chocolate is the answer to everything....
