I take my dog on all vacation trips, and most work trips. She has a great time. The worst thing about summer is it's too hot to let her ride along in the car and wait while I'm working.

I had to leave her at the dogsitter for 6 days, and it was torture to be gone that long.

10. I so relate.

My oldest doggo, 15, was born deaf and she has always been a Velcro pooch, never leaves my sight. She sleeps touching me and wakes up if I get out of bed. My youngster dog, 3, is more of a watchdog and believes she was born to protect me. They are my life. I am at the point where I won't leave them overnight unless one of my sons can stay with them. Even then, I am told, they spend most of the night watching for me. It's heartbreaking.
