but we broke the stranglehold the MIGQP had on the state. They controlled everything and now they control nothing. I still can't believe we actually flipped both houses of the legislature. That anti-gerrymandering prop passing in 2020 was everything.

Not a fair answer because I am from Chicago. I'm not in a red state. I just felt like posting this.

Asheville has gotten way too expensive, so thinking Charlotte burbs somewhere.

Where are you?

I hate TN. Vehemently detest this place & very much want to move back to NC.

It would be so awesome to be near other DUers, do lunch, campaign together, get into some "good trouble!"

Omg just thinking about the possibilities I feel like I want to start packing!

There are several areas of predominantly Democrats: the Triangle (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill); Charlotte; Asheville; Boone; Greensboro/Winston/Salem; and others that may be about half Dems and half Repubs. A lot of the rural parts of the state are admittedly red.

I could not understand why Charlotte proper was so much more expensive than the outlying areas. This was the exact opposite of Chgo, for the most part.

I asked a lot of people & they just looked at me like I had 2 heads.

Ya, it didn't take long to figure out that the cities had no rednecks. There were no such vile creatures in suburban Chicago. None at all. Incomprehensible, as is the stupidity & violent crime rate here.

He has graduated and going to Medical School in Minnesota/Mayo Clinic. She is moving up there after graduation. My wife and I are looking at moving to Minnesota. Somewhere around St. Paul maybe. Tired of the Texas politics and I like cold weather. With climate change it might not be a bad place in the future

but I’d move to Vermont if I could. I’ve visited there and it’s towns are picturesque, it has beautiful foliage, plenty of snow and is the bluest state in the union. The only downside that I can see is the lack of ethnic diversity.

It really got awful in Dec 2020, about 6 weeks before the first vaccine, when Disantis and his anti-mask, anti-vaccine Surgeon General told the world “Come on down for vacay, no masks needed, and we offer cremation services as soon as you’re unplugged from the ventilator”.

Planning a move to the Berkshire Mountain area of my home state.
