Back After A Long Absence

I have returned to DU after a long absence. To make a long story short in 2015, I developed viral meningitis. Despite conflicting reports it does sometimes have long lasting side effects which in my case meant some memory issues, and additional depression. I say additional because I already was diagnosed with chronic major depressive and anxiety disorders many years prior.
As a result when Trump got elected in 2016, I could not handle it emotionally, and went off the deep end. I literally lost touch with reality for a while. I was hospitalized a few times and even had to have ECT treatments. I have very little memory of most of 2017 which is probably a good thing.
Any way on a positive note thanks to an amazing psychiatrist and therapist(both Democrats by the way) I made it back above ground despite the odds. They both told me that they weren't sure I was going to recover, but I did.
I still have shaky moments, but I am still in treatment, and even though both my psychiatrist and therapist from then moved on to other practices, I still carry on with what they taught me, in addition to following my new teams guidance, so I am confident I am strong enough now to follow my passion for history and politics again!
