In the first cartoon, Wiley actually spoke. Sounded something like Arthur Trecher or Boris Karloff.

you know what they teach in their clown school? chuck jones cartoons.
most of their clowns are based on chuck's characters.

There was the episode where the two kids are watching the show, and one of them wants to be the roadrunner. The other can’t understand why Wile E. even wants to catch him. Then Wile E. goes on to explain how delicious they are. Maybe it wasn’t a Jones episode.

...moonlighting as an animator.

His grasp of the Newtonian Laws was incredible, and he used them flawlessly.

I still watch the original "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" every year in homage.

… who compared their interactions as being very like Wile E. and the Roadrunner. Can’t remember the guy’s name, but the characterization was memorable — the red-faced frustration of McCain and the nimble moves of Obama, “meep-meep!”
