I haven't gone shopping on Black Friday in decades, now.
And today is no exception.

(12,744 posts)I picked up some soda and beverages at the grocery store, but Im not going to a store store. Thought about going to the dispensary - they have some great deals today, but that may be too much dealing with crowds as well, and its not like I NEED to buy more weed.

(15,675 posts)Once in Kansas City where I live. Long line for some stuff that before opening the store informed the line they didn't have enough for everyone. Still stuck around and got a Garmin, which I stopped using once Smart Phones and Google Maps got better. And once in Augusta, KS (outside of Wichita). They let people into the store, and there were pallets of the deals most people were there for. Each pallet had a Walmart worker to control things, and you lined up in front of the pallet that you wanted. At midnight, you could get what you wanted then go to a different pallet to see if another thing you wanted was still available. I brought a deck of cards with me, and I entertained the line with magic tricks and playing Texas Hold 'Em.

(26,399 posts)days. For those that you do want to get a gift for, give money instead. It keeps us all sane.
There are some folks that relish the shopping experience that these crazy days bring, and I don't understand how or why. And to top it off, the 'deals' that they're usually in there for, can oftentimes be gotten later at the same price or even a better price.
Some people beat the crowds by shopping throughout the year too, and thus, have all of their shopping done way in advance.
And I was going to go do some errands, and then I realized OPPS, nope, nope, nope. Told my other half to just take the car and go on to work (I usually drop them off at work and then run errands).
Crazy is crazy, eh?
