After a week of 40 F degrees and melting snow, the forecast for some parts of western NY tomorrow is more lake effect snow. But this time, high winds are expected, with gusts up to 50 mph.

(21,425 posts)The wind and snow are forecast to start in the afternoon. So, in the morning I will pick up a few things and then sit it out at home until Thursday afternoon, when it's supposed to be over.
I expect that the cat will be freaking out over the sound of the wind.

(21,425 posts)Temperature in low 40s, expected to drop later in the afternoon as wind increases to 50 mph gusts. Snow in the evening and overnight with accumulation dependent on location.
More snow all day tomorrow, with winds dying down by tomorrow afternoon. Looks like places east of us will get worse snowfall. Buffalo seems to be sitting this one out since the worst weather will be in surrounding areas.
Then starting Friday, temps back up to 40s and even 50s. These yo-yo temp swings keep Lake Erie warm enough for repeated lake effect snow every time the air temp drops. The current lake temp is 45 F.
A broader stormy weather system from the northwest across all the Great Lakes is apparently behind our local forecast. So the western lakes area might be getting weather just as bad or worse.

I just responded to your reply in Writer's group. Download a bunch of great books to your device & read through this weird weather.
Back to reading fiction. It's much less strange than the news.
