Anybody else perplexed by Old Navy's holiday commercials this year?

I don't understand a word the piano-playing woman is singing.

It seems like I'm supposed to know who she is, but I don't have a clue.

It all seems like an inside joke that I'm not in on?

Last year's commercials with Katy Perry singing "All You Need is Love" were rather lovely, but were overplayed.

I can't believe this perplexing ad campaign got the go ahead?

Is there something I'm missing that I should be picking up on?

1. Jennifer Coolidge

Comic actress… having a bit of a comeback in HBO White Lotus. She usually plays ditsy characters that are wholly inappropriate. I guess that’s the Old Navy hook but it is pretty ‘high concept’.

I guess I have to assume I'm not Old Navy's target audience.

I think she's done a couple other of his movies. Also in 'Legally Blond'.

Being herself. She is known for her whimsical, odd portrayals. She's enjoyed "icon" statis among some groups for years now. There's definitely a target audience for her. I can understand her. Old Navy holiday commercials tend to be goofy and this is pretty on brand for them.
