How do some women do normal things with those LOOOng nails? I was watching a show and a commercial

came on. I have never had a manicure. It showed these long nails with all kinds of decorations.
. Since I do crafts, I like to keep my nails short. But how do they do normal everyday things? Can you take them off? Everyday things like cooking , bathing and dare I say it --using the bathroom.

Those super long, pointed nails look dangerous and not just to others. There are certain personal cleansing activities that I think could result in serious personal injury.

I get pedicures, mainly to keep my ingrown toenails at bay. I see women getting these super-long fingernails, and have to wonder how they wipe their butts!

I'd probably poke one of my eye's out in my sleep. I like to work outside in the garden, rake leaves in the fall, paint, cook, bake bread and pies, long nails would be a hindrance.

I keep my nails short, always have. I'm still a tomboy, what can I say?

30. A bidet solves that problem. They also have products in catalogs

for TP. As for other things - I have no idea. I find those super long nails creepy.

19. I do not like nail polish at all. This will sound odd, but it's...

...as if my nails can feel there is something on them, and I want it off. It doesn't hurt, but it doesn't feel good.

If I don't like plain old nail polish, I'm sure fake nails of any length would drive me bonkers.

And the above mentioned hygiene challenges must be very real. Never mind trying to insert a diaphragm, cervical cap, or tampon - yikes!

I also don't like mascara, and can't even imagine wearing false eyelashes. When I used to use contact lenses, I wouldn't be particularly aware of them all day, but when I'd take them out in the evening, it always felt as if my corneas were saying, "Aah, that feels better!"

I put nail polish on for Halloween once, and it felt like my nails were smothering! Like they couldn't breathe...

25. I finish my clay with resin-one part. I needed a UV light so I went to Amazon and it took me to the

manicure department. They had tons of stuff you could add to your nails-flat backed pearls, stencils, flowers, glitter, etc. I just don't get it. But I did see a kit, where you could glue the nail ends on. they came in all lenghts. OMG, just got off this post and there is an add for those long nails.

26. Once upon a time, I got acrylic nails put on. They looked good at first..

Not long after, I noticed my thumb nail looked green/black n it itched. So, I ask the girl at the salon n she said a lot of people have that problem! I had them taken off n straight to the dermatologist as I has a fungus. It took me almost 8 months to get rid of it and as you can imagine, it will be never before I do that again.

28. Deuxcents, it could be that some people have a reaction to the resin. I use rubber gloves when

applying to my polymer clay. Did you ever find out what caused the fungus? was it the nails, resin, or the manicurist?

29. My dermo suggested the nails were not put on properly

And water had gotten underneath the fake nail. Plus, they grind the natural nail when applying the acrylic so it was a perfect place for fungus. Prescriptions n months later, my nails finally healed. It was embarrassing until they finally healed. I now just do my own nails..keep them short but I do put a clear polish on them. Be careful with these salons, is my advice. They reuse their files n other things n that’s another way to end up with ungus or mold.
