Fascinating origin of the tune "God Save the King/Queen", which is also "My Country Tis of Thee"..... it was originally composed by Lully for Louis XIV, so it's French in origin!!!
Particularly weird that it was written to celebrate the king's recovery from surgery ....for an anal fistula.

One source says reminiscent of God Save the King, and of a Prussian song, but I always thought it was the same as the British and American one. That ditty got around.
