It made me wonder about the older gentleman and what his story is. Anyway, having several friends from other cultures I learned, from them, that we seem to cling to some of the puritanical rules of how we should interact. We most certainly can;t seem to shake the love of aristocracy, this seems no different. I know that social norms in the north eastern states, when I was young, were still very much in keeping with Puritan doctrine even though many eschewed it, it was how things were determined complete with the northern versions of Jim Crow laws. It was hard to grow up there looking like I do.

In about 45 seconds she sent back "WTF". She obviously didn't watch it past the old guy putting on lipstick.

I really believe if you had to boil it all down to one word, that is the word that right wingers have so much of a problem with. It is really what they mean by "woke"

Meaning, awake to the world around you, awake to minorities concerns. awake to the needs of the Other. Awake to the idea that lifting the boats of those who are disadvantaged, and isolated, and marginalized, elevates us all. And conversely, ignoring, shutting out, and demonizing the Other creates division and anger and prejudice.
