Used "taken" to check for slate and slake; would have liked to also check for slave: can anyone think of a 5 letter word containing T, K, V? Tyvek was all I could think of, but product name. Others?

In your case, checking for K and T was sufficient. If neither letter was a match, then solve with the V.
