Anyone see the Bearskin Hoodie commercials? Those are so over the top masculine it's creepy.

It's really exactly what I don't want in a zip up hoodie. I go for morning walks in all-weather except high wind. A standard good quality hoodie is perfect for if I start sweating. I take it off and carry it the rest of the way. I'm not in a t-shirt and light coat for a reason. I need the layers so I can stay comfortable.

1. Everyone has different tastes. I guess talking about coats is timely since winter is starting.

I’m glad we’re all different in clothing options. Boring otherwise.

I go for walks every day too, but today I'm wearing a turtleneck jersey under a hoodie, long thermal tights under sweat pants, a down parka with a hood, wool socks, boots with ice cleats, and thermal gloves. I won't want to take off any layers.

shirt and a hoodie. Heavy boots, stocking cap and gloves was perfect. I take some pretty good hills for exercise but don't want to sweat out my thermal underwear. That is uncomfortable the rest of the way and I have to change when I get home. I have it down to a science because the temp is highly variable here.

and if it's a little windy, ski goggles come out. The only thing that stops me is if it's slick out. I try and avoid crashing.

6. For icy conditions I highly recommend a brand of boots and shoes

called Icebugs. They have ice cleats embedded in the soles and they are brilliant. I've been walking on ice every day without slipping at all, and they are warm and comfortable. They are Swedish, made specifically for walking and even running on slippery surfaces. Check them out. https://icebug.com/
