Spent over 4 months cleaning my house, getting rid of stuff, selling off stuff, boxing up stuff in order to move, arranging for stuff to get picked up for donation.

Husband was in the Hospital times this year with heart issues before FINALLY getting a Pacemaker put in in August, which has made a world of difference.

Halted much of my business in order to move.

Jan. 1, 2022 was a 7.5

Jan. 2 was a 5. Pretty mediocre.

Jan. 3 was a 9. Things got much better.

Jan. 4 was a 6.

Jan. 5...

Hold on. I'm going to have to tabulate all of the days and get back to you. Maybe tonight. Maybe before 2024.

A nice little job literally landed in my lap, so I finally have a small cushion. Sleeping next to me is an unexpected black cat. Her family entrusted her to me when their situation changed.
I think we’re all due for some lightness.

Met my new lady after 4 years solo post-divorced, and we enjoyed the year together, and spent my first whole year with my new gato Jean Luc.

Got home to the Bay Area 3 times, took Mandy to Yosemite for her first time, work was busy but not overwhelming. Also got a raise to start the year, first in (too long).

So, yeah, despite my oft-negative disposition, it was a good year for ol' Mr. L

Got to move out of Houston area, back to the Hill Country. Been dreaming of this since I had to move to Houston.

Also nobody really close to me died, got hurt or seiously ill.

Once upon a time I really wanted to live in Texas. We've had multiple opportunities but for some reason it just never happened. We have talked about moving there when our youngest is out of the house in a couple years because my in-laws have some health issues and we're the only family they've got.

Working on my 70th orbit.
Made plans to build a new greenhouse this spring.
Voted straight Dem.
Had an awesome elderberry harvest.
Cried with my neighbor on the passing of his Dad we got much closer he needed that.
Well me too.
Cleared another part of the field for more crops.
Made unbelievable strides towards a completely organic cannabis grow using only homegrown nutrients. Success on small scale will lead to larger operations especially in the new greenhouse.
Voted straight Dem.
Drove my neighbors to the polls.
Made a comfrey “cream” for all my neighbors for their various discomforts.
Had Christmas with the family…ok, 3 times cuz of schedules and stuff.
Still NEVER been sick with flu or anything like it in at least 10 years
Snowshoed for 5 days till the warm weather blew it up.
Voted straight Dem.
Helped in various small ways to get Michigan blue again.

May change to 9.

It would be a 1, but I’m grateful for those people and those things in my life that HAVE survived.
My significant other describes it as ‘the evil year’ for me.

...only because, it could always be worse.

My mom had a stroke in March, and I had to quit working to take care of her. (I'm a musician, so "work" for me is about much more than just income.) She is basically completely disabled, so I've been here with her 24/7 since then.

I had one close friend and one long-time colleague both commit suicide this year.

My trigeminal neuralgia hasn't let up, and at the 4 year mark, the doctor told me that it's likely that I'll be dealing with it for the rest of my life.

...but, other than that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln?

profit, moved to a nicer town and downsized now that the kiddos are older and one's away at school. Moving meant I could work remotely which I love and I also got a promotion at work. Younger kiddo loves their new school and my husband took a new job which is way less stressful. Overall it was a good year!
