With a walk-on quarterback who proved everyone wrong in back-to-back championships and stars among the offense and best-of-the-nation, defense, we'll see a lot of them in the NFL, for those who follow.
But, as seen with the rotation of the young freshmen in the second half, UGA will have talent next year too. A threepeat?

(20,200 posts)The one TD TCU did manage to score was because of blown coverage by one of Georgia's defensive backs. It could very well have been a shutout by Georgia.
Max Duggin didn't help himself for being drafted in the NFL. If he gets taken by the fifth or sixth round I'd be surprised. Stetson Bennett III is a little small for an NFL quarterback, but I'll wager he's chosen before Duggin.
Great game, Bulldogs.
Can they three-peat? Wait till next season to see!

(14,708 posts)After the close semi-final games, I did not expect a blowout like this.

(36,631 posts)The only thing that would keep UGA from beating any of the other 3 would be getting rusty while waiting to play the championship game. TCU didn't stand a chance.
No reason why there can't be a 16 team playoff series and have the national championship 2 weeks after the last playoff.

The game was such a blowout I turned it off.
Congratulations to the Dawgs.

(113,203 posts)I cheered for them throughout this season. Yes, some calls definitely went their way (especially against Michigan), rather unexpectedly, but with their current coach, I think this will be the start of a really strong program.
