$540.00 to fill our propane tank yesterday!!!!! If we pay before 10 days it'll be 500.00

Tank was 40% full…….husband said fill it. I was thinking let’s wait a few months…..and take chances on price drop. Nope best to keep it full now then wait. Yikes……

ooooops, and total $ was actually $528.45 and if paid in 10 days it drops to 501.35. Says tank % before fill 36% AFTER fill 85%. Wonder why he didn't fill it?

because your usage draws from the layer of gas that forms above the body of liquid propane below.

Thus, +/- 80% is capacity.

Are you on automatic refill? We got a bit of a break to be in automatic refill.

They used to fill it the week before Christmas so we always went into the New Year broke.

Honestly that tank is a reason we needed to leave WI. It doesn’t just take winter fortitude to live in WI. It’s very expensive utility-wise.

That and I have such bad arthritis and we had 12 acres of woods and yard. Just got too much for our old bones.

Always thought WI would be great if we could eliminate the high winds in winter and the month of February.

Wait until the US to Europe NG infrastructure is filled out and profitably streamlined.
We'll see prices thru the roof.

They only fill to 80%. I’m down to 40% already. I live in a Passive solar house so if the sun is out, I don’t need to put the heater on.

Are the local fuel oil companies. I'm ready to take a chance installing a non fossil fuel heat pump

I just paid $1.98 a gallon which is about what one would expect at this time of year.

Sometimes in the future, I'd like to get another 509 gallon tank to pair with the one I have or replace the one I have with a 1000 gallon tank. Then fill it in late sumner when prices are usually low

I go through about $2500 a winter in propane.
