We have a three year old Whirlpool side by side refrigerator: WRS571CIDW00.
I've had issues with the icemaker, but fixed them in the past with getting rid of ice build up on the interior of the door. But I'm in over my head now. Found a video of how wires become detached through normal opening of the door. Fixed them. Then ordered a new ice maker. It was installed today. No ice. And I could only unplug and turn on the switch. No reset button like some I found on line. Maybe there isn't one?
I've looked around and found a video dealing with diagnostics. But it's beyond me.

Has anybody dealt successfully with this type of refrigerator?

(81,445 posts)The only things that came to mind were to ask if you gurned water supply back on & whether ice maker has an in line fuse that could've blown.

(12,739 posts)Hey there is a landfill looking for a fridge. (They hate to "hear" that)
As far as no ice maybe the ice bar is locked? The bar should be loose amd when the ice rises it reaches the shut off position?
Sorry that's all I got.

Most likely the water line is frozen. Years ago we had a similar issue with a relatively new refrigerator. IIRC, we had to order a replacement icemaker, then have someone come out and install it. It was one of those ice/water combos on the freezer door.
The fridge was still relatively new when this broke down, so it was a little frustrating.

Who installed the icemaker?
Was the water line to the filter opened back up again? I assume it was as one of the first things is to test the water flow to the glass fill.
And you don't see or feel any water in the ice tray of the maker?
Any sounds?

(10,435 posts)I've done a fair amount of cleaning out ice build up under the tray over the years. Even the part that turns the ice dispenser inside the tray. Unscrewed and washed out ice build up, which ought not be there in the first place. But now it didn't help.
So I got our handy man to reattach wires near door hinge that were split in half. No help. Got a new ice maker part. No help. So it's something like the motor or fuse or some other thing we don't know about.
I was trying to not call Whirlpool. They sort of suck. But I think I have to call them.
Here's the pictured panel on which video shows diagnostic test can be done...
