10. Lucky adopter! There are a few breeds you almost never see in a shelter. I volunteered for years

and years and don't recall a single golden retriever. One Maltese. One Doberman. Can't recall Lhasa or Shih Tsu.

26. You must be right! Some families won't step up to the plate. I remember a phone call at the humane

society. A newlywed wanted us to accept her recently deceased mother's Persian. Her husband didn't want it. I told her if her husband didn't want her to have such an important part of her mother, she needed to keep the cat and get rid if the husband. I actually did! I must've been frustrated at something happening there!

22. So sweet, I have a 6 yr old Golden

and he is the love of my life. Never had a dog show me so much affection, love, encouragement. The looks in his eyes will melt you. My hubby is sick this week and he won't leave his side, worried about him.

He follows us everywhere, we are retired so he gets loads of attention.

My Luke was an awesome dog. I miss him like crazy. Along with a few others. Hope to see them all on the Rainbow Bridge one day.
