Wyoming: Jackson Residents Can Be Fined Up To $750 A Day If Their Christmas Lights Are Still Up

Upon reflection, I think this might have something to do with a dark sky policy, if not a local ordinance. I've seen the northern lights from the road between Yellowstone NP and Jackson. I'd hate to have that sight no longer possible due to Christmas lights.

Maybe this is not such a bad policy.

Teton County residents who still have their Christmas lights on are in violation of county zoning regulations and can be fined up to $750 each day.

I heard they were going to ban the sale of electric vehicles but going after electric lights seems a bit excessive.

Jackson, WY, is a resort community. They have three ski areas, plus a bunch of other stuff intended to draw in rich tourists.

Christmas lights in mid-January ruin the glamorous vibe of the place.
