Why did Tucson rename the musical hall the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall?

The Tucson Convention Center Music Hall is now officially named the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, in honor of one of Tucson’s most famous singer/songwriters. Tucson mayor Regina Romero announced the declaration at the Music Hall during the 40th annual International Mariachi Conference on May 7.

There's been some amazing female singers, Ann Wilson, Pat Benatar, but Linda;s voice is so special, so emotionally true.

Ronstadt music hall.

It's better than Sam Hughes everything, who helped finance, work logistics, and give political cover for a massive Native American massacre at Camp Grant in 1871.

Wasson Peak after John Wasson who used the lead up to and aftermath of the massacre to solidify his newspaper's place in Tucson.

Oury Recreation Center in downtown after William Oury, who led the massacre and stood by his actions until his death.

Safford, AZ, named after APK Safford, who turned a blind eye to the massacre and quietly approved from the governor's seat in Tucson.

a break and said "I've found a lovely lady backstage to help me out on this next tune." It was
Linda and the crowd roared approval. They did a Tumbling Dice duet bumping hips together.
I still remember when she was in the Stone Poneys (sic) waaay back (an LA band with a couple of
Tucsonians. They recorded Mike Nesmith's 'A Different Drum".
Good for her, she deserves the honor.
