(10,943 posts)... them all. I think the earliest "favorite" was Pete. There are a lot of stories about him being the most popular. Next, it was Paul - the biggest teen idol. Then surprise, Ringo replaced "the cute one" for a bit, when their first films came out. After that, it was back to Paul being a musical "genius," they said. Next, John was the "real" genius, they said, and the counter culture liked John best. After the break-up, George was the new darling - emerging as the real, "real genius," with people saying John and Paul were diminished. After a couple of mammoth works, George faltered... andPaul slipped into the top position again, leaving the rest of the band on the run. But, then John was assassinated and back to being the best of the Beatles. At least, they all got a turn!

(39,698 posts)Paul McCartney because he wrote music I could relate to, and Ringo Starr because he played left handed on a right handed drum kit and produce a unique sound that frustrated a boatload of professional drummer because the could not replicate it.

That didn't materialize. Paul went into be bop songs with Wings. John had the talent to continue with his music and lyrics. Still like George, but my impression, as an adult, went to John.
loved Twist and Shout, Dizzy Miss Lizzy, great vocals. His lyrics, Revolution, Give Peace a Chance and not being afraid to be political. As a highschooler, I used to joke, he could get divorced if he married me. I loved his sense of humor, his books which are still in my living room book case, John Lennon in his own Write, 1964 and a Spaniard in the Works, 1965,both bought with my babysitting money. Drawings are funny, some stories are very dark, it was only 20 years after England had endured WWII. I liked all of the Beatles, after the break up, I bought a few John Lennon Albums. I loved the Traveling Wilburys, which I think George got together, and bought their tapes. His wife Olivia was once asked what was the secret to your long marriage, she answered something like "You don't get divorced."
I have to add to lyrics, Imagine, and the Ballad of John and Yoko.

(4,914 posts)He always had a little more edge to his material but Paul has grown on me. Hell, they were all great.
Ferrets are Cool
(22,599 posts)Paul the more handsome.
George was enigmatic.
Ringo was the most fun.
This is just my opinion.

(57,778 posts)John was outspoken and loud but just the song Imagine, puts him ahead of the others. So, musicwise, John is my favorite, cuteness and voice would be Paul. writing, singing and guitarwork would be George and Ringo was Ringo.

(41,369 posts)Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us, only sky
Imagine all the people
Livin' for today
Ah
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Livin' life in peace
You
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
