The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsDay are getting longer it is now past 6 pm and it is still light out (twilight)
Today's daylight is as long as November the 5th. (about)
It has been 46 days since the shortest day of the year, 12/21.
For those that care we have had 10 days of December (21st to the 31st), 31 days of January, and now 5 days
of February and so 10 + 31 + 5 = 46.
If you take Dec. 21 and then counting backwards 46 days puts us at a daylight length of 11/5. If you live around Great
Horned or Barred owls you might be hearing them hoot now as their young are being born now. And where I live in
Central OH even if the temp is < 32 degrees F if it is sunny the snow still melts because the angle of the snow is getting
higher in the sky.

(41,039 posts)I was just saying to Mr. Diamond that by mid Feb. we should be over the hump of winter.
Not that I hate winter exactly. He does, however.
I dont like all the darkness, but as you said, Ive been noticing we have daylight later now.
