I saw an interview where they were talking about how this scene had to be slowed down a little during editing because the actors had practiced and enjoyed the choreography so much they fought at a speed that would not be believable.
Young Ewan McGregor reminds me of River Phoenix.

(10,156 posts)Honestly Ray Park (Darth Maul) he goes to conventions a lot and shows off his skills. He is so damn fast with a double blade even after 24 years.

(2,278 posts)When they brought back Darth Maul in the clone wars cartoons, it was a truly jump the shark movie moment.
In fact, the whole magical witches thing was when I gave up on the whole franchise.
Now that Disney has pushed the series, I dont care.
Just my opinion of course.
My biggest objection to the whole thing was when they tried to rehabilitate Vader. He killed children! Thats unredeemable to me. Besides, the love story between Vader and the Princess was the least passionate relationship Ive ever seen in a film. And Im supposed to believe that the balance of the galaxy was related to that tepid affair? Please.
Lucas and company really went wrong with what began as a brilliant romp with an actual philosophy. But by Episode VI, the commercialization (Ewoks made great plush toys) and the Vader thing began my turn away from the Force.
Rant off.

(4,608 posts)Started watching The Mandalorian last week and Im nervous about it. A friend said the first season is great (unusually high praise from him) but something happened in season 2 that angered him to the point he wont watch anything on Disney any longer. Hes not a Star Wars buff, more of a movie and story lover. Ive been trying to get him to watch Andor because I think hed love it but no go. That makes me think whatever pissed him off in the Mandalorian must be egregious.
ETA: Im actually glad to hear they resurrect Darth Maul in the Clone Wars. I loved him in the movie and was bummed he was killed off so quickly.

(4,044 posts)I actually liked the movies Star Wars episodes I - III.
The exception is any scene with Jar Jar in ep 1. The childish slapstick humor just didn't fit the feel of the other three movies.
Qui-gon (sp?) i.e., Liam Neeson, was the best Jedi of all time. Samuel Jackson as Mace Windu was underutilized.
The fight scene in ep II between Jango Fett and Obi Won is also worth a special mention.
The Star Wars I don't much like are the three recent ones.
