(90,794 posts)that when dB passed, she was gonna have friends up there - other beloved companions whod already gone that way. Yeah, I believe they have souls, too. Maybe its just a weird way to find comfort. But hey, if it helps
Safe passage, Albert, sweetie.

(578 posts)happy for you both that you got 21 years together. So often, our furry friends and family leave so very soon. This is a testament to your care and devotion. Good kitty. Good hooman.

(2,809 posts)But helps transition to the newly adopted pet who won't be Albert, so sort of disappoints... at first.
I still miss Caleb, the gentle giant. I lucked into adopting Tiago, lively Husky doggo. Partially his independent streak made a hard transition for nearly a year. Just... "not Caleb". Now he's grown as fond of me as vice versa.
It still wells my eyes up to think of a day I cross over to be mauled by quite a few animals.

(55,527 posts)My baby died when she was 17 and it was not long enough for me. Every time I blew out my Birthday cake candles I wished the same thing..."l wish you will live until you are 20. I realized that if she had even lived to be 30, 40, etc. it still wouldn't be long enough for me. Outliving others is a no fun.
I hope Albert visits you to let you know he is OK. He is waiting for you to join him, this is been fairly common knowledge
by those working in hospice care. Some people will see their long lost pets, young, happy, healthy, playing all around.
I can't wait to be reunited since being here without her hurts a lot.
