My GF works for the radio here in my little town. Yesterday the tower on the top of Mule Mt

blew down and was destroyed. Winds were estimated at 85 mph. SE Az. Needless to say the
station is off the air. For maybe a month.

It'll probably take a few months. It's rather remote. panader0 Feb 2023 #3

about 2 months before I started. It was a 600 foot FM tower. It fell in March, and it wasn’t fully restored until September. In the interim, they rigged a temporary 80 foot stick putting out about as much power as the average toaster, down from 100,000 watts.

After we got back to normal, we had another ice storm. Large chunks of ice were falling on the roof, and into the parking lot, while I was on the air. The PD came into the studio and asked for my keys to move my car down the driveway away from the tower. He came back 15 minutes later, and told me he had good news and bad news. The good news was that they had moved my car. The bad news was that it was after ice had caved in part of the roof!

Good luck getting the tower back up.

about 10-20 mph here, but we had over 5 hours of almost constant but gentle rain. We need the water, but not the horrible conditions and destruction that storms can bring.
