Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsFinally got an update from my brother
The MRI came back with no problems found. Apparently they took another good look at his eye and now they are suspecting there MIGHT be a retinal tear. They are going to refer him to an ophthalmologist. So his voice sounds so much better than last night. I know he was so scared but he was also trying to not sound real scared because he knows how fast I jump to panic mode.
There's still a problem, but it's not a brain tumor. It's manageable because he didn't delay in seeking care.
He is supposed to ref a roller derby match tonight, but I'm sure he asked medical people if he should find a substitute.
As for me, I predict this will be a low energy day. Few things knock the starch out of me the way stress and anxiety over health issues do. He and I are the last of our immediate family and he is my rock.
I did sleep, last night, but it was far from restful. Partly due to weird dreams and partly due to rampant feline stampedes.
If I pull out the sofa bed, they will all hop up and cuddle with me.

(10,665 posts)A retinal tear can be repaired in an outpatient setting. My husband has had a retinal tear in both eyes. The surgeries went well. Sending healing hugs for your brothers recovery.

(57,073 posts)If the retinal tear exists, it sounds minor & I'm glad he caught it in time so it's not a major problem.
Ty for the update!
Have a kitty snuggly day & get some good rest now that you're not terrified.

A great big cuddle with the kitties sounds like a great way to rest through the day!
