(16,385 posts)The generational age ranges are inexact in my mind.

(10,175 posts)Those born between 1946 and 1964. The Silent Generation was born between 1928 and 1945.

(27,785 posts)DU was launched in January 2001. That was 22 years ago. If a majority of new members who joined in the 1st couple of years, were in the 40- 70 age range, they would now be in the 60+ age range. Yes many members have since joined, but the membership foundation was laid back in the early 2000's.
New enrollments since then would have added across the age spectrum, but even with some older DUer's leaving or passing on, I would think that 60+ group would be the majority. It will be interesting to see.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
