What trips me up is when to use "who" and when to use "whom." I haven't found a trick yet that will help me remember.
I also get "i.e." and "e.g." mixed up.
And then what bugs me is when people use "I" incorrectly.
For example:
People might say something like, "Tell Jennifer and I when you're ready to go." That's not correct. The trick for that is if you take Jennifer out of the sentence you wouldn't say, "Tell I when you're ready to go." You'd say "Tell me when you're ready to go." So, the correct way to say it is, "Tell Jennifer and when you're ready to go."

(29,406 posts)As you pointed out, no one ever gets it wrong in the singular - you never hear, "Me am going to the movies."
Even worse, I'm now hearing people make a possessive out of I - "John and I's vacation."

I would use "us" it is much less trouble.

(10,180 posts)Thank you!!! I just fixed it.....I think the point I'm really trying to make is you wouldn't say, "Tell I and Jennifer...."

(26,856 posts)In HS my parents bought me a "dictionary" of misspelled words with their correct spelling.
Only...
I was so bad I didn't misspell those words in the "usual', "typical" incorrect way! 😝
I do look words up to be sure. 👍

If you're slicing a pear, then all bets are off but you can say you ATE it afterward.
