(126,268 posts)2. I would suppose that anyone wealthy enough to own something so ornate
would not be doing much of their own sewing and would delegate those tasks. That leads me to wonder if there was some other clandestine use for that thimble.

Nothing like hauling out the fancy thimble to impress or intimidate guests or other wealthy women.
