11:30, I can't fall asleep until 12:30-1:00 and I now get up at 9:30. I am exhausted and take naps, messing my sleep up more.

(5,455 posts)affects me every time. I hate it and wish it would stop. It's so unnatural to still see daylight at 9:30 PM.

(81,351 posts)After the time change, I couldn't fall asleep until really late for a couple of nights.
Then was exhausted and went to bed at 8pm.
Then up at 4 am, wide awake drinking my morning coffee.
Wanted to take naps or go to bed early, but made myself wait until a later time.
Crazy.

(81,351 posts)We have had unusually warm weather, up to 74 degrees and then very cold weather with snow.
All in the same week.
The time change and yo-yo weather extremes, it all seems disruptive.

She wants out to potty at 3 AM

(81,351 posts)Yes we are having 20 degree weather now too.
So getting up early with my dog to get her out in the snow and cold when I am still half a sleep is crazy.
I don't have a fenced in yard so I have to go out with her and stick close to her.
My neighbor said she has been seeing coyotes out in the back our our condos, and was worried about my little dog.
She is only a 8 lbs Maltese and a coyotes would see her as a nice snack.

I wonder what it would be like to power through a winter on DST. My memory of the last time we tried that is a bit murky at this point.

(130,568 posts)than the time change. It's been oscillating rapidly between freezing and thawing and snow and rain and gloom and sun, and I think it's disrupting my brain.

(1,527 posts)Florida is further west than most states in the Eastern Time zone. With DST, we are in effect in AST (Atlantic Standard time), the same time as New Brunswick, Canada or Puerto Rico. So to me, the time doesn't match the sun. I heard there are talks to keep in permanant DST, but really I think they should just keep in standard time like they do in Hawaii, most of Arizona, and most countries in the world. You don't need to change it back and forth, and it makes even less sense the further north you go.
