(25,355 posts)As you said in your post, it would be xxy instead of xy. Most likely sterile, too.
Usually mixed red and black colors in a cat indicate that it's a female. The colors are sex linked. In order to have both red and black, the cat has to have two X chromosomes, which female cats have. Or, more rarely, it would be a sterile male with XXY chromosomes instead of XY.
