I have a cookie theft story..true story..I will be quick..
We had just moved from Mass. to AZ..neighbors were welcoming.. next door a family with 4 children, ages 3 to about 10..the youngest, a boy, and 3 older sisters..of course he was spoiled..doted upon..but not a brat..he knew I made cookies, and he knew I had a cookie jar on the island..our cul-de-sac had get togethers almost every weekend ..about 6 fams..different house.
This one morning, I heard the door to the laundry room from the garage open..hubby must have gone out and left the big garage door open. I turned around and without a spoken word, this little guy came around the corner into the kitchen, pulled out the stool..climbed up, lifted the lid of the cookie jar..helped himself..and off he went..not a word spoken..I called his mom to let her know, the cookie was from my cookie jar,...told her what happened..yes, we laughed..a very fond memory..
