... we'll watch the second half of a James Bond movie on LaserDisc (forget which one - has a hot chick in it).

James Bond movie with an attractive woman. Well, that narrows it down to ... all of them.

Which actor did you like best as James Bond?

4. Yeah, I agree. Pierce Brosnan was pretty much the living image of James Bond.

And he would have done the movies much sooner, I read, except he was under contract for 'Remington Steele' and some other stuff that prevented him from being James Bond for a number of years.

Moore, well, for one thing, he was kind of old towards the last of them. Can I say that without sounding "ageist"?

7. Pardon the language, but Moore was a pussyfart. He just didn't fit the role at all.

And seriously, "Octopussy"? I've never seen it, but WTF? And "Moonraker" sucked.

It's practically dark out already. You left coasters are just soooooo behind us!

OK, so I exaggerated just a bit, sunset is about 2 hours away, give or take a few minutes.

We know your garden is still in full sunlight and looking beautiful, as always.

But getting up for those early AM walks may be shortening your day...

This was one of the worst years I ever remember due to weather. 90s in MARCH, 20s in late April, things froze. Then we baked in June and July with almost zero rain.

August has been a little more kind and moderate. But the damage has been done.

Of the biggest indirect problems was that the heat and drought caused a tremendous spider mite bloom, and those afflicted many plant species I've not seen them on. So a lot of ugly looking things.

Your garden pics were beautiful, and much appreciated by many of us here.

Count your blessings, though--you don't EVEN wanna hear about all my dead houseplants. When the heat hit, it was like a massacree!

first we got some rain last month and the pigweed grew like crazy, then we had a hot dry spell and a biblical invasion of grasshoppers

this was a couple days into it - a small peach tree that had 7 peaches a week or so from ripe:

here is a few more days - not even a whole week - took them about 5 days to completely defoliate the tree and consume 7 peaches.

bastards left me 2 seeds

they took EVERYTHING in the garden except a watermelon vine
