tires rotated the day before going on vacation. Drove all night to get half way between Duluth to Grand Rapids, Mn and my front tire came off, stripping the lugs. Really screwed up my trip.

I was in the back seat of our VW bus reading on the way home. My then-husband hit a patch of ice and the car spun and then rolled multiple times down a hill. If I hadn't had my seat belt on (no shoulder belts back then) I would not be writing this today. I got out with a bloody gash on my heat and a concussion.

By a semi with a tipped trailer

Small blue pickup rolled down the hill to a spot where the emergency responders didn’t even know he was there. Luckily he was wearing his belt and was able to climb up with just bruises.

I cried when I saw the truck, he would have died without the seatbelt

we left my home state, moving me and all my stuff to my husband's home state. We got within about 25 miles of home on the turnpike and a huge tire came flying from the oncoming traffic side, bounced on the like thigh-high concrete barrier and was coming right at our windshield. We were driving a huge U-Haul truck with my car being pulled on a trailer behind it with my two cats in it!

We were in the middle lane and there was a one-ton duallypick-up in the outside parallel to us, leaving us without a lane change to avoid it. Thankfully, husband saw it coming and gauged the situation calmly and quickly enough to nudge us over just enough toward the truck in the outside lane without colliding with it. Instead of hitting the windshield, the tire sheered off the driver side rearview and imploded the driver side window. It hit the box of our moving truck and caused some minor damage to a few things inside, and then continued on it's way down the road to hit other vehicles.

Once the HI-PO was on scene, they had already determined where it came from as there was a small 4wd jeep sorta vehicle (can't remember now) down the road missing his tire.

No one was hurt, thankfully, but I had the top tier of my wedding in the cab with us. It was now full of glass and inedible. Best cake I'd ever tasted at any wedding, too.
