Yes I'm alive.

I have dumped Facebook and Twitter. Been cutting way back on social media and time watching news.

I have been keeping to myself and remembering "not my circus 🤹?♂️ not my monkeys 🙊 " . In other words, not letting other peoples monkeys on my back.

I've been focusing on my health and well-being. And I'm doing emotionally better for it.

Hope everyone is having a Rocking day!🎸🎼

I'm learning to enjoy early morning coffee outside watching the sunrise and watching the buetyful sunsets.

Sunny, my 4 legged nurse, always by my side.

I have had to learn that I'm now retired. I can vote and call my congress persons but I can't go full tilt savings the world anymore.

And watching the world go to 💩 24/7 is so not healthy for me.

So Gen Z, it's your turn. I can't be the liberal warrior I once was.

I've been more local news watching at 6pm . Been listening to CNN 5 things podcast in the morning and that's pretty much it.
Save for stuff i see posted on DU that's it.
Have had some withdrawal issues, but it has been a big help for my mental health.

Cutting down on cable. More books, Libby from the Library and watching the rain as Spring renews the earth.

So join you enjoying the rebirth. My favorite time of year! Daffodils, Crocus and soon blossoms on the weeping cherry.

Totally different than the semi tropical environment here in south Florida. I ditched Fake Book but still have Twitter for some reason, probably because I enjoy making fools out of MAGA's and Russians. I really should stop supporting Elmo though.

I think in the end we are going to come out the winners in this struggle for the country's soul. I really do but don't know if I'll live to see it myself and it may get darker before the dawn.

Anyway, enjoy your freedom from idiocy.

After moving to Kansas two tears ago. (Today!). I really miss our desert Springs, when my fig tree would bud and we start seeing baby quail and bobcats...in town.

At first Facebook was pretty good. I used it to help rescue dogs from a high kill shelter. I was in a situation where I could get to the shelter after work and transport dogs to rescues that were finding homes for them. After a while my circumstances changed and I could no longer get to the shelter. When 2017 came around and Charlottesville happened was the time I quit Facebook for good. I had too many "friends" and it turned out that many of them were closeted racists. I started unfriending them, but that was too much work, so I just unfriended Facebook altogether. That was hard to figure out and it took about 3 weeks before my page disappeared. I went through and dumped all social media except for Linkedin and Nextdoor. I rarely look at either of those. I didn't realize that social media was making me miserable until after I stopped using it. I don't like being plugged in that way. I supposed it could be something wonderful, but I'm happier without it.

perfect families, wonderful trips, etc.

I hate when people say "did you see my post on FB?", "it was posted on FB",... like they think everyone is following them and on FB all the time.

Another thing that did it in for me was a couple of years ago I liked a friends' political meme. I was in the grocery store one day and a mutual friend that didn't like the meme confronted me and laid in on me about everyone who commented.
