The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI went to Meijer to buy a leg of lamb, this morning.
The bin was EMPTY!! I asked one of the workers if there were any in the back and he said he'd bring more out. I said 'great', thanked him, and added that I sure didn't want to have to try and fool my family into believing that a 'leg of ham' was a leg of lamb.
He didn't laugh. I thought it was funny.

(14,933 posts)I finally learned to love shesk kebob in my early twenties. Though I missed the summer cookouts of it when I was younger from one family member; another one really took it up, then I enjoyed it for decades!
They did it with the added onion, tomato, and peppers, too.
At Greek restaurants I either order it, or a gyro if it's all lamb, and not a kamb-beef combo.
Later on my mom picked up a lamb riblet recipe. Marinate for several hours, or overnight with some garlic, olive oil, a bit of lemon juice (I think), and oregano.
Cook in the oven, with about a 5 min under the broiler finish! YUM. Best thing short of summer shesk kabobs!
