(17,757 posts)1. I don't know if they could do more than just play back your "hello."
In my state if they recorded it they would be breaking the law. Not that that matters a lot if you are calling from China. If I do not know the number calling me, I wait for them to greet me, if it doesn't happen within a few seconds, I hang up.

If they really want me they will leave a message. If they don't leave a message then it wasn't important.
